3 Trophies and 6 Gold Medals at National Wine Show of Australia 2023
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Fogarty Wine Group has been awarded an astounding 3 Trophies, 6 Gold Medals and 8 Silver Medals at the 2023 National Wine Show of Australia (NWSA), including the Deep Woods 2021 Reserve Chardonnay winning the Len Evans Memorial White Wine of Show Trophy.
The NWSA exclusively showcases the most highly-awarded wines across Australia. Only wines that have previously received a silver or gold medal at a qualifying show in 2022 are eligible to enter, creating a tight competition. This rigorous pre-qualification program is in place in order to judge the best of the best in Australian wine each year.
NWSA Chair of Judges Jim Chatto said of this year’s competition: “Renewed eligibility criteria (only gold and silver medal winners from the eligible Australian wine shows) and a determination of bringing together the very best team of judges possible, resulted in a sharpened focus on the wines of great balance, detail, and real structure...The strike rate on medals was an impressive 78%, and 11% on golds. No doubt helped by the aforementioned tighter eligibility rules”.
With 965 wines entered in the show this year, these recent awards showcase the immense quality across the Fogarty Wine Group portfolio.
