Technical
vintage
2024 was one of the earliest vintages ever seen in Margaret River. Consistently warm and dry conditions allowed for exceptional fruit ripeness and flavours with a very well-balanced natural acidity. Extensive marri blossom resulted in minimal pest pressure in the vineyard. The quality of fruit is fantastic and 2024 has produced some very exciting wines with flavour definition and structure.
winemaking
This Single site Cabernet Franc is from the Bantry Bay vineyard, which is a short distance south from our estate in the Yallingup hills sub region. The fruit was carefully destemmed and fermented in a series of small open top fermenters to allow a cool maceration period. The wine was plunged daily and gently basket pressed to tank before racking to older large format French oak puncheons. A relatively short maturation stage of up to 10 months has resulted in a wine with approachability, fruit sweetness and soft ripe tannins.
