This wine will be best enjoyed within five years of release.
The 2022 season saw due a continuation of the La Nina weather patterns, with cooler weather and lots of rain prior to the growing season providing healthy vine growth. Cooler vintage temperatures produced fruit with vibrant natural acidity and more refined, delicate characteristics. Frost early on in the season caused some lower yields, however the resulting fruit shows deliciously concentrated flavour.
Fruit was 100% hand picked and pressed directly to barrel for fermentation in largely older oak puncheons and barriques. Fermentation occurred spontaneously (wild fermentation) and there were no additives used during the fermentation process. Postfermentation, the wine was matured for six months in barrel. Each barrel was then assessed and the most expressive ones were used in the final blend.

Chardonnay
Grilled Spanish Mackerel with a lemon herb risotto.
Intense creamy lees, buttery croissant, stone fruit and toasty aromas, quite complex on the nose, revealing substantial winemaking artifact. Palate is soft and fleshy, smooth with fine powdery tannins and balance. Medium-full bodied and ample, and would be a good food wine.
