Winemaker's Note
Exclusive to Online and Cellar Door - Only 50 six-packs available
“This Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Gunyulgup Block 5 Vineyard in the Yallingup Hills subregion in the far north of Margaret River. Old vines are planted on deep gravel loams, and an east-facing slope captures the morning sun. This block delivers exceptional balance and intensity; the resulting wine is a delicious example of single site Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon."

Tasting Notes
colour
Deep red with purple hues.
aroma
Intense redcurrant, cassis wild berry fruit characters merge with cedary oak and bay leaf aromas.
palate
Incredibly long and persistent. The palate opens up with blackcurrant, red earth and moss while delivering an enticing saline freshness and savoury edge to the wine.
cellaring
This wine is delicious now, however careful cellaring until 2035 will reward.
Technical
vintage
2022 was a truly exceptional vintage in Margaret River. The season started beautifully with a wet spring and late flowering, followed by a warm and dry season, producing refined flavour, great elegance and real personality.
winemaking
The Deep Woods single vineyard wines exemplify the diversity of Margaret River’s distinct subregions. This single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Gunyulgup Block 5 Vineyard in the Yallingup Hills subregion in the far north of Margaret River. Old vine, on deep gravel loams, an east-facing slope capturing the morning sun; this block delivers exceptional balance and intensity in the resulting wines.
The Cabernet Sauvignon was fermented solely in static fermenters where pump-overs and delestage were used to extract fine tannin and colour for up to 10 days. Primary fermentation occurred solely in tank before the wine was racked to a selection of new and older French oak barriques for malolactic fermentation and aged for 18 months.
