Technical
vintage
The 2022 vintage in Margaret River was preceded by a very wet winter leading to good, healthy vine growth. Intense heat and dry months over the summer led to decreased yields however the dry, sunny days provided a natural barrier to disease, and extensive marri blossom kept bird pressure at bay. Some bunches suffered from sunburn, however the challenges in the vineyard were minimal. Although yield was lower than average, the quality of fruit has resulted in outstanding wines.
winemaking
Fruit was harvested in the coolest part of the night with some batches of Sauvignon Blanc undergoing extended skin contact. All other batches of fruit were immediately pressed and separated from skins. A portion of this wine underwent wild barrel fermentation (7%) in one-to-five-year old French oak, with the balance fermented in tank on light solids. Following fermentation, all batches remained on yeast lees to achieve texture, integration and balance before bottling.

Reviews
Huon Hooke, The Real Review 2023
Straw, lemongrass and kiwifruit aromas, the palate very dry and delicate, the dryness and savouriness influenced by a kick of phenolics. Good food style.
